Evangelism
Living Out Our Faith
Evangelism.
What is evangelism?
The Greek word euaggelion literally means “good news.” Biblically speaking it is specifically in reference to the gospel. Used 76 times in the NT.
The Greek word euaggelistés refers to evangelists, those who bring good news. Used 3 times in the NT.
The Greek word euaggelizó refers to the action of sharing good news. Used 54 times in the NT.
Why should we evangelize?
God has decreed that it is the Gospel which He will use to call forth His people. Evangelism is the means that God has decreed, this is the only reason we should ever expect any success in doing so.
